Liberty Community Plaza
Liberty Community Plaza is now open to the public. Masks are still required for any persons who enter the building.
Liberty Community Plaza is a $20 million state-of-the-art community center owned and constructed by the County of Los Angeles and operated by HYC. Our organization serves as the site manager and provides counseling, treatment, and educational programs. Through this innovative public/private partnership, HYC is working with 4th District Supervisor Janice Hahn and the County of Los Angeles to design and implement programs responsive to the needs and interests of diverse community members, groups, and organizations. Supervisor Janice Hahn and Los Angeles County have helped Liberty Plaza grow into its current facility. From sponsoring events to assisting local Veterans and implementing new and beneficial community programming, our neighbors at Liberty Community Plaza can thank the County of Los Angeles leadership for these incredible resources.
Liberty Community Plaza is proud to provide essential community resources, free or low-cost classes, a beautiful park and track, affordable rental space, Veteran services, and public events for Unincorporated South Whittier and the surrounding cities. Besides offering their classes and programming, HYC also brings new courses and programs to the community using the Liberty Plaza facilities. Call Liberty Plaza at (562) 273-0700 for more information about these free programs, or you can visit the Liberty Plaza website to see a complete list of classes and programs offered.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Liberty Plaza has been a community hub for resources such as food, clothing and emergency assistance to individuals and families in the community.
