Emergency Medical Services Training
We will be launching an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Training Program April 7, 2025; this is a Free Educational Training Program.
The EMS Corps Program is designed for young adults 18 to 26 who have been impacted by systems including child welfare (foster care), juvenile justice, behavioral health, underrepresented and/or economic challenges. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, Driver's License and from the Greater Whittier.

EMS has trained hundreds of young people underrepresented in the fire and healthcare workforce for careers in emergency medical services. Many have gone on to become paramedics, nurses, firefighters and doctors.
This is a Free 5-month cohort and participants will be provided:

EMT training and ride alongs

Life coaching, mentorship, job readiness training, and physical fitness.

Earned monthly stipends during the program

Assistance finding jobs after graduation

Counseling and career support, mentorship, and all the support needed to become a certified EMT.
In addition, they will receive community college credits through our partnership with ELAC. Our first cohort of 20 participants will be April 7, 2025, at Liberty Plaza in Whittier.
